Digital images such as the sunset on this page are not artificially enhanced. Mother Nature usually does a pretty good job of painting the colors and arranging the subject matter all on her own. Exceptions are to occasionally remove a bit of manmade litter or to bring out the details in the shadows or highlights. The amazing human eye can see over a range of 24 f-stops of brightness whereas cameras are limited to a range of about 9 f-stops ... so it sometimes requires some minor adjustment to reflect the actual full range of light present when the shutter originally clicked. The techniques parallel those of the masters of film photography who spent hours in the darkroom dodging and burning the exposure or adjusting the filters and chemistry to achieve the perfect print.

The music on this site is by Aryeh Frankfurter, an incredibly gifted musician playing the Celtic folk harp and creatively self-accompanied at times on the viola, pennywhistle, psaltry, guitar, Irish flute, cello, viola, and fiddle. Two selections are from Aurora of the Northern Harp (© 2004 Aryeh Frankfurter) and one from Harp Songs of the Midnight Sun (© 1998 Aryeh Frankfurter). These and other recordings are available through Lionharp Music @ www.lionharp.com.
